Late winter marks my continuous development of my artistic language, shifting from the ever morphing, amorous and curvaceous brush strokes from previous paintings to a calmer and more selective colouring. This painting is a commemoration of a peaceful period in my life, infused with frozen landscapes and that consist of objective memories from a visit to Beijing which is constantly melting and breaking down to form the future. The various shapes of simplicity is a representation of the “objet petit a”, what is ever elusive and unobtainable, akin to past experiences that is constantly melting away.
